Understanding of vector and bitmap-based images

Understanding of vector and bitmap-based images-in the world of design or digital photography there are some things we need to know, such as we have to know the base images used in the world of digital photography. In the world of photography, there are two types of bases, namely bitmap and vector images. From both the base there are some distinct characteristics that clearly distinguish diatara both the base image.

Let's start from the vector-based image.

Understanding vector based image is an image that is determined by the intersection of the two axes X and Y axis so that the images generated from the meeting point (vector) between the two axes earlier. Vector image size is usually smaller than that used images bitmap.Software include CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, and others. Extensinya most commonly used is the CRD (CorelDRAW) while the other relative. Usually used in the design drawings, and so on advertisement billboards

The characteristics of vector-based images:
  1. Not specified by resolution. That is big or small resolution images destined effect on the image.
  2. Can be zooming up to a size that is not certain
Bitmap-based images

Bitmap-based image is generated image of dots (pixels) to form a set of points (pixels) which is called resolution. Unit resolution called DPI (dots per inch). Bitmap-based image when zooming in will certainly bring rupture points (in terms of the world of photography is called "noise"). This is because the bitmap-based image is determined by the resolution of the image, the greater the resolution the sharper the image, but any amount will arise resolution bitmap image noise when zooming in on a specific size or at the point of maximum zoom.

Extension bitmap-based images are usually used and that I often use is PSD, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF (for animation) and RAW. Usually used in photographic editing and better results than the file of vector based images.
